This Privacy Policy explains how Offscript ("we", "us" or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Offscript iOS mobile application (the "App"). Offscript helps you learn languages in a doomscroll-style experience, and we aim to collect only the information we need to run and improve the App.

2. Information we collect
When you use the App, we may collect:
- Account and identity information – email address provided via Sign in with Apple, and your name if you choose to share it when you first sign in.
- Internal user identifiers – stable IDs we generate to link your account and activity across our backend services and trusted processors like Supabase, RevenueCat, and Superwall.
- Learning data – your learning progress, selected language, review position, and in-app preferences such as sound-effect settings.
- Subscription and entitlement information – your Offscript subscription status (e.g., active, expired, in trial), product identifiers, billing period, and entitlement state as provided by Apple and managed through RevenueCat and Superwall.
- Usage and device information – basic information about how you use the App (for example, screens or content types visited, session duration, app version, and iOS version) so we can keep the App running smoothly.
- Support communications – information you send us when you contact support, such as your email address and the contents of your message, along with any diagnostic information you choose to share.
We do not request or collect your precise location, contacts, camera data, or microphone recordings. Audio is used only for in-app playback.
3. How we use your information
We use your information to:
- Provide and operate the App – create and maintain your Offscript account, authenticate you via Sign in with Apple, and load your learning progress, preferences, and entitlements.
- Manage subscriptions and entitlements – verify your subscription status, determine whether you have access to premium features, and support restore-purchases flows using RevenueCat and Superwall.
- Improve and secure the App – understand usage patterns, fix bugs, keep the App compatible with current iOS versions, and protect the App from abuse.
- Communicate with you – respond to your support requests and send important service or policy updates.
4. Third‑party services and processors
We work with a small number of trusted third‑party providers to run Offscript. These providers act as data processors on our behalf and may process user‑linked identifiers where needed to provide their services.
- Supabase – used for authentication, account data, learning progress, and related app data. Supabase may process your email address, internal user ID, and app data associated with your account.
- RevenueCat – used to manage App Store subscriptions, entitlements, and restore purchases. RevenueCat may process internal user IDs, Apple transaction identifiers, and your subscription/entitlement status.
- Superwall – used to present paywalls and subscription‑related flows. Superwall may process internal user IDs and entitlement state to show the correct paywall or post‑purchase experience.
- Apple – through the App Store and Sign in with Apple, handles billing, payments, subscription renewals, and authentication. Your use of these Apple services is governed by Apple’s own terms and privacy policies.
We do not describe this as "only aggregated or anonymized" sharing. These services may process user‑linked identifiers so they can correctly associate your purchases and entitlements with your Offscript account.
5. Data retention and account deletion
We keep your data for as long as necessary to provide the App, comply with our legal obligations, and resolve disputes. In practice, this means we retain your account and related data while your account is active and for a limited period afterward for backup, security, and legal purposes.
You can delete your Offscript account from within the App. When you do this, we delete or anonymize:
- Your Offscript account and internal user identifiers
- Your learning progress and in‑app preferences
- Offscript‑specific data stored in our backend and associated processors, except where we need to keep limited records for legal or security reasons
Important: Deleting your Offscript account does not cancel your App Store subscription.
If you have an active subscription, you must manage or cancel it through your Apple ID account settings or the App Store. Apple may continue billing you until you cancel in accordance with their terms.
6. Do Not Track and cross‑app tracking
- Offscript does not use the App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework to track you across apps and websites owned by other companies for advertising.
- We do not use the IDFA (Identifier for Advertisers) for advertising or cross‑app tracking.
- We do not show third‑party ads in the App.
7. Children’s privacy
Offscript is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to help protect your information (for example, encrypted connections and access controls). However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure. You are responsible for keeping your device secure and controlling access to your Apple ID and Offscript account.
9. Your rights and choices
Depending on your location, you may have rights such as accessing, updating, or deleting your personal information. You can exercise some of these rights directly in the App (for example, account deletion), or by contacting us at [email protected].
10. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Effective date" at the top. If we make material changes, we may also notify you in the App or through other appropriate channels. Your continued use of Offscript after the changes take effect means you accept the updated Policy.
